Joystick, Throttle and Rudder Pedals, and virtual reality
I heard of this new Occulus Rift virtual reality set one can buy, and I was wondering if anyone here uses a realistic gaming set. I myself am just a keyboard and mouse guy, since it would take me way too long to get used to a joystick. Any thoughts on Joystick gaming?

I only fly joystick & pedals - well yoke & pedals actually. I got the setup when I was working on my instrument rating some years ago. It is all about the flying for me :-) I've been playing a lot of "full real battles" today and finally feel like I have a fighting chance. There are still the odd lucky shots, but not like being constantly moused-sniped out of the sky in HB or arcade. You also need to watch your stall speed and for snaps if you yank too hard on the elevator. Very cool.
I use a 27" monitor but don't have any VR type gear. I am thinking about "Track IR" to help keep an eye on the enemy.

If I ever get really tired of WT with keyboard and mouse and want a new aspect of the game I may try using realistic controls. But I don't expect to get bored of the game anytime soon, especially since the full release is closing in, and there will also be army and navy units to play in.
